Miss Romania wins MAPI's Darling of the Press

Meet Miss Romania Ana Maria Ciritel, this year's Darling of the Press for Miss Asia Pacific International.

Ana Maria, 25, is a model, and make up artist living in Bucharest.

She is very empathetic, kind, and joyful. She likes being around children; that is why her advocacy for this pageant is helping poor children from Romania to have access to a better life and education.

Two years ago, she was impressed by the talent of some children who were dancing and singing in a traditional show, and she decided to join a volunteer association that develop programs for poor children.

Ana Maria has a lot of friends from all over the world. She likes books and movies. Her favourite book is " The Secret".

Her model in life is her mother who struggled to raise her on her own and never gave up on her duties as a mother and sole breadwinner of the family.

She admires Amal Clooney for her strong personality and power that she exudes in her charitable activities.
She also likes Leonardo DiCaprio beacuse he is a great actor and an activist for climate change problem.

Her grandparents' love story inspires her, believing in never-ending love; that is why her favourite song is " Young and Beautiful" from Lana del Ray.

She joined Miss Asia Pacific International because she thinks she can be a worldwide voice, first for Romania, and then for all the children she wants to help everywhere.

By winning this contest, she will have a platform where she can gather the right people - philantropists, media partners, child advocates, and other supporters in order to make big charity movements all over the world.

Her favorite quote is "Everything happens for a reason" and that's why she' s very curious all the time to see what happens next.

Here in the Philippines, she is impressed by the people because of their kindness and hospitality. She also loves the Filipino food she has tried so far.

Anna Maria thinks the best things that a woman can teach a man are: to be more sensitive and empathetic and to love better.

She believes that the biggest social issue now in the world is discrimination and she wants to become an activist, supporting kindness and acceptance, no matter if it's about religion, sex or any other social problems.

Ana Maria dreams of putting up a peace school that would teach children about life, about emotions of people and how to deal with them in order to achieve lasting peace. - ROBERT REQUINTINA
