South African crowned Miss Tourism Beauty of the World 2019



A beauty queen from South Africa was crowned Miss Tourism Beauty of the World 2019 during a competition held in Palawan over the weekend.

Devoney Crossman, 27, a human resources payroll manager in Johannesburg, said she was thrilled to win the crown because her hard work paid off.

"I am so grateful for winning the crown. Excited for what the year will bring," said Crossman.

Asked about her impressions of Palawan, the new beauty queen said: "It just exceeded my expectation. I was inspired by the warm hospitality of the people of Palawan and awed by its pristine and untouched beauty.  I am inspired by the passion to promote eco-tourism."

Anne Cherrylyn Apas of the Philippines was 1st Princess while Manussanun Limjanphaphap of|  Thailand, 2nd Princess.

Organizers thanked Palawan and the municipality of El Nido for hosting the pageant.-

They also thanked Mayor Edna Gacot-Lim, the municipalities of Taytay, Quezon, Narra, Aborlan, Linapaca, Española, Cookie Media Productions, Philippine Coast Guard, Philippine National Police,
Philippine Marines, South Sea Pearl Museum, Norman & Nette Vicente, Ice & Tita Belle, Charles Go, Amos Restaurant, Moringa Resort, El Nido Seashell Hotel., The Nest El Nido, Ipil Suites, La Casa Teresa, Aetas Glamping El Nido, Elleis Place, Cherry Bus - Official Transport, CIC Travel Services, Lobster King, Cafe Athena, Taste Vegan Cafe, Liberté Hotel, and Sava Bar.

The candidates enjoyed their 17-day stay in Palawan, said Ferdinand Abejon, one of the founders of the pageant. Sander Andan directed the show.
