Shamcey Supsup-Lee on being businesswoman: 'Happy and difficult'
Former beauty queen-turned-businesswoman Shamcey Supsup-Lee has said that she misses showbiz life although she has accepted the fact that acting is not really for her.
"I still do a lot of hosting which is my form of relaxation, and anything about pageants. And then I do inspirational and personality development talks. Hindi ko talaga ma-imagine ang sarili ko na mag focus sa acting," said Shamcey, during the launch of "Biyaheng Busog" delivery service app in Mandaluyong City October 3. It also coincided with the birthday celebration and Child's Dedication of her son Nathan.
Shamcey and her husband Lloyd Lee have ventured into food and restaurant business. Married for six years now, the couple have two children.
"It's my first time to venture into food and restaurant business. Mahirap na masaya. Mahirap dahil it takes so much of your time. Pero masaya because of the fulfillment of getting something out of nothing," the 33-year-old beauty said.
She added: "Masaya kasi kasama ko siya (Lloyd). It's a 24-hour job. I also have an extended family which is my staff. Kung ano ang problema nila, problema ko rin."
In being a newcomer in business, Shamcey said that her husband taught her about perseverance, persistence, and never giving up.
"You have to start small in business and you have to work hard. Then find ways to make it better and find something new," she said.
"For 'Biyaheng Busog,' we are targeting company subscriptions. Those companies which do not want to have canteens. Instead of you going to us, we will come to you. It's a delivery service app and you can order online and we will deliver to your doorsteps. They can order food from Pedro 'N Coi and other restaurants," Shamcey explained.
Before Shamcey joined Bb Pilipinas in 2011, she graduated magna cum laude in architecture from the University of the Philippines in Diliman, Quezon City. Later, she topped the Philippine licensure examinations for architects
Among those who attended the celebration include beauty queens Ma. Venus Raj, Maxine Medina, Ali Forbes, Nicole Cordovez, Kimverlyn Suiza, Theresa Licaros, Patricia Fernandez, Las Pinas Congresswoman Camille Villar, Miss World Philippines General Manager Arnold Mercado, fashion designer Bessie Besana, etc. (Robert Requintina)
