Binibining Pilipinas 2020 candidates tour Gateway Gallery Museum

In line with the celebration of the National Arts Month, the candidates of Binibining Pilipinas 2020 paid a visit at the Gateway Gallery Museum, Gateway Tower last Feb. 18. The girls were given a tour of the museum by curator Gari Apolonio, who provided the candidates a quick lecture on the exhibited artworks. The museum visit provided the Binibining Pilipinas candidates a quick blast from the past courtesy of the artworks lined up at the museum's Sining Saysay: Philippine History in Art exhibit. The exhibit, which features 30 large-scale paintings from pre-historic Philippines to the contemporary period, is a joint project of the Araneta City and the University of the Philippines. Through the museum tour, Binibining Pilipinas aims to promote art appreciation while teaching history to the candidates. 2018 Bb. Pilipinas candidates make first public appearance

Days after their official numbers were assigned, the 40 candidates of the 2018 Bb. Pilipinas beauty pageant made their first public appearance at the Gateway Mall in Cubao, Quezon City recently. In their comfy white shirts and jeans, the girls waved to their fans on their way to the art gallery located at the 5th level of the popular mall. Later, the candidates explored the latest cultural destination in Quezon City which spans 735 square meters of prime space dedicated to the exhibition and appreciation of art and history. The gallery, which can fit almost 600 people, consists of a main exhibition hall and a smaller secondary exhibit area that easily converts into an events room ideal for drawing/painting sessions, artist talks or film screenings. "Sining Saysay: Philippine History in Art" is a milestone exhibit that depicts Philippine history in 30 large history and thematic paintings.
