MWP acquires Miss Supranational franchise

The Miss World Philippines (MWP) organization announced its acquisition of the Miss Supranational title. This latest addition makes the Miss Supranational one of the biggest and coveted titles in the Miss World Philippines organization’s roster, which currently includes: Reina Hispanoamericana, Miss Eco International, Miss Eco Teen International, Miss Multinational, and Miss Philippines Tourism. Jehza vs Katrina: Who will reign at Miss Supranational?

Two Binibining Pilipinas beauty queens are competing at the 10th Miss Supranational beauty pageant which will be held in Poland on December 7. The Filipino beauty queens are Jehza Huelar, of Davao City, who will wear the Philippines; and Katrina Jayne Dimaranan, who will represent USA. Huelar, 23, of Davao City, earned the right to represent the country in the international pageant after she won Bb. The 40 official candidates of the 2018 Bb. Pilipinas beauty pageant were announced following intense deliberations held at the Kia Theater in Cubao, Quezon City early morning of January 16. Stella Marquez-Araneta, chair of the Bb. Pilipinas Charities, Inc., said that these 40 girls are the ones who will take part in the grand coronation of the 2018 Bb. Pilipinas beauty contest at the Smart Araneta Coliseum in Cubao, Quezon City on March 18. Miss Philippines, others play good Samaritan to Miss Peru

Miss Philippines Chanel Olive Thomas is living up to the title of Miss Friendship after she and some candidates rushed to Miss Peru who passed out while the winners for the Miss Supranational 2017 pageant were being announced live in Poland last Dec. 1 (Dec. 2 Manila time). The viral footage was not seen on television but several pageant fans who watched the show in Poland live recorded the incident through their cellphones and uploaded it on social media. In the video, Miss Peru Lesly Reyna fainted while the hosts were about to announce the winners of the competition. When Miss Peru passed out, some of the girls, including Thomas, helped her and brought her to an area near the backstage. Thomas stood a bit far from the commotion when she ran to the girls. Moments later, the Filipino-Australian beauty queen was seen rushing backstage apparently to seek medical assistance for Miss Peru.
