Araneta City, Spark Philippines tackle intersectional feminism

Araneta City has partnered with Spark Philippines for a live online discussion on a timely topic that will deal with feminism, discrimination, and equality in today’s society. On June 27, 6 p.m., catch the webinar “Unity in Diversity: Understanding Intersectional Feminism” at the official Araneta City Facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/AranetaCity/).  The webinar will be joined by Spark Philippines Senior Program Manager Hans Madanguit and Binibining Pilipinas – International 2019 Bea Patricia Magtanong who will share their knowledge, insights, and experiences on issues that women of different backgrounds are currently facing. Madanguit will be discussing the concept of intersectional feminism and its social relevance with Magtanong, a practicing lawyer and an advocate of social justice. The webinar aims to give an overview of the Intersectional Feminism framework to help lay the foundation for a better understanding of gender equality and sensitivity.

Crafty dads can catch a live woodworking demo on Saturday, June 20, by Lex Reyes of Craft MNL (4pm). J. Amado Araneta Foundation, Araneta City give food aid to more beneficiaries

Amado Araneta Foundation (JAAF), the social responsibility arm of Araneta City, has turned over more food aid on May 7, 2020 to select communities affected by the COVID-19 pandemic through the donations from the #TogetherWeHeal campaign. Target recipients are 400 families from two barangays in Caloocan City, 120 families from Barangay San Martin De Porres in Quezon City, and 130 families from Gawad Kalinga – Munting Pamayanan Village in Quezon City. Present in the turnover held at the Araneta City were Atty. Jecos Carlos III of the Caloocan City LGU, Ms. Lydia Gello-Agan of Brgy. JAAF supports COVID-19 related relief efforts nationwide

The J. Amado Araneta Foundation (JAAF), the social responsibility arm of the Araneta Group, has been providing support to various COVID-19 related efforts on a nationwide scale. Since the ECQ was imposed in Metro Manila last March 17, JAAF has been actively working on several efforts.   As of April 17, the breakdown of undertaking includes: • P665,280 has been appropriated for COVD-19 testing kits • P274,500 worth of medical supplies have been donated to LGUS • More than 8,000 meals have been made for front liners • 1,150 food packs have been distributed • P141,050 have been raised for the #TogetherWeHeal donation drive • 650 #TogetherWeHeal food packs have been procured, with additional funds from the Foundation • 1,000 seed packets received from Department of Agriculture for the #TogetherWeHeal food packs #TogetherWeHeal, the campaign for COVID-19 relief efforts, was launched last March 31.  The major undertaking is a donation drive which aims to ...

In line with its #TogetherWeHeal slogan, Araneta City has arranged a series of live online activities via its official Facebook page on April 16 to 18, 2020 to help Filipinos attain healing and fight fatigue brought by the extended enhanced community quarantine (ECQ). On Thursday, April 16, 10 am, the City of Firsts teams up with Slimmer’s World for the Zumba Fitness online session with instructor Lara Delariman to keep the online community moving amidst the ECQ. This activity will provide netizens a dose of slimming and toning exercises with Zumba exercises that are effective calorie burner, cardiovascular system enhancer and stress reliever. Araneta City, the City of Firsts, officially welcomes the first ibis Hotel brand in the country with a ceremonial topping-off of the ibis Styles Hotel on January 20. The ibis Hotel brand was developed by the international hospitality company Accor, based in France, as an affordable yet creative brand for both leisure and business travelers. The biggest dog show in Asia is coming to Araneta City with the staging of the Philippine Circuit at the Smart Araneta Coliseum from Jan. 16 to 19. Thousands attend giant Christmas tree lighting at Araneta City

Thousands of people flocked to Times Square Food Park at the Araneta City to watch two kinds of stars - the lighting of 100-foot Christmas tree and entertainers. People cheered as cellphone cameras clicked when UNICEF National Goodwill Ambassador Anne Curtis-Smith, Binibining Pilipinas Charities Inc. chair Stella Marquez Araneta, reigning Bb.
