Duterte to announce Metro Manila's fate after Cabinet meeting

METRO Manila’s fate – whether or not to revert the region under strict lockdown, will depend on the outcome of meeting between President Rodrigo Duterte and his Cabinet. Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque said that the President is set to meet his Cabinet men today, August 2, to discuss the call of the medical community to declare enhanced community quarantine in the national capital region. "The President will meet with key Cabinet members today to discuss yesterday’s letter from the frontliners," presidential spokesperson Harry Roque said in a statement sent to reporters. "I will make the proper announcement in due course," he added. Newest tent venue inaugurated

The newest tent venue was inaugurated on C5 Extension Road in the City of Las Piñas last Dec. 12. President Rodrigo Duterte was the Guest of Honor during the inauguration of the Tent at Vista Global South. Members of the Villar Family—former Senate President Manny Villar, Sen. Cynthia Villar, Vista Land CEO Paolo Villar, Public Works Sec. Mark Villar and Las Piñas Rep. Camille Villar-- were also present. Villar, DOH open drug rehab center in Las Pinas

Sen. Cynthia Villar and Department of Health (DOH) Secretary Francisco Duque led the soft opening of the Las Pinas Drug Abuse Treatment and Rehabilitation Center in Barangay Ilaya. The facility has a 2- storey building for female occupants with 86-patient capacity and a 3-storey building for male occupants with 158-patient capacity. The Villar family renovated two idle buildings formerly assigned to the Vice Mayors League of the Philippines and the Provincial Board Members League of the Philippines and transformed it into a rehab center. In return the villar family built two-three storey bldg for both the vice mayors league and board members league. “The rehab center is part of our contribution to the administration’s campaign against illegal drugs. Through this facility, we can now have a place in Las Piñas and neighboring cities to transform drug-dependent individuals into fully responsible and productive members of our society,” Villar said. Re-elected Sen. Cynthia Villar, the No. 1 in the last May midterm elections, and the other winning senators, who ran under Hugpong ng Pagbabago (HNP), take their oath of office before President Rodrigo    Duterte.  Villar, known as “Misis Hanepbuhay,” wants to remain chairperson of the Senate committee on agriculture and food in the coming 18th Congress to continue her programs in improving the lives of Filipino farmers and fisherfolks. She also prefers to retain her chairmanship of the environment and natural resources committee to further pursue her advocacy on environmental protection.  Villar was    joined by Senators Sonny Angara, Pia Cayetano, Ronald Dela Rosa, Imee Marcos, Francis Tolentino and Bong Revilla during the oath-taking ceremony  at the Malacanang Palace.

If she would have the chance to return to the Senate, Senator Cynthia A. Villar vows to continue helping poor Filipino get out of poverty. Villar was among the senatorial candidates endorsed by President Rodrigo Duterte during the PDP-Laban campaign rally at the Alonte Sports Arena in Binan, Laguna. In asking voters  to support the re-election bid of Villar, the President stresses that  only “stupid” will not vote for her, whom he described as “parang Nanay ng Bayan” and a “mother in the halls of Congress” who was never involved in any corruption. He also acknowledges Villar’s unrelentless efforts and several projects inorder to help our people.

Cynthia Villar's bid for reelection was endorsed by no less than President Rodrigo Duterte during the campaign kickoff of Partido Demokratiko Pilipino- Lakas ng Bayan (PDP-LABAN) in San Jose del Monte, Bulacan. Villar was endorsed as a guest candidate of PDP-LABAN along with fellow Nacionalista Party members Ilocos Norte Gov. Imee Marcos, and former senator now Taguig Rep. Pia Cayetano. President Rodrigo Roa Duterte led the Inauguration of the Las Piñas Drug Rehabilitation Center last Dec. 13 which was donated by former Senate President Manny Villar and Senator Cynthia Villar. The Mella Hotel of Villar owned by Vistaland was also inaugurated by President Duterte. It is in celebration of the birthday of Manny Villar, Nacionalista Party President and the only Filipino who holds the distinction as the first Post-War public official elected as both Speaker of the House of Representatives and Senate President. “The rehab center is part of our contribution to the administration’s campaign against illegal drugs. "I stopped explaining myself when I realized other people only understand  from their level of perception," said Cuneta on Instagram. LTO modernization pushed

Despite the call of President Rodrigo Duterte for a clean and honest government, the Land Transportation Office (LTO) remains allegedly one of the most corrupt government agencies in the country, according to a non-government organization. In a statement, The Filipino Alliance for Transparency and Empowerment (FATE) said the LTO is still confronted with the problems of alleged corruption, manual system in car registration and fixers. Jo Perez, FATE spokesperson, cited the long daily lines of people at the LTO particularly at its main office in Quezon City, allegedly having so many fixers in and out of the LTO offices, stenciling and fake emission testing, faking of physical and medical results from those who get and renew their driver’s license, giving of “already answered sheet” to applicants of driver’s license and faking of the results of smoking belching clearance. These are the words of Presidential son Sebastian "Baste" Duterte when asked why he decided to join show business during the launch of his reality TV program "Lakbai" which will air after PBA on TV5 starting May 21. Duterte, the youngest son of President Rodrigo Duterte, said that he never consulted anybody about appearing on national television. "Convince me? They did not convince me. Decision ko lang ito. Hindi ko na mapigilan kaya nag decide na lang ako ko try showbiz. Yun lang talaga yun.
