 The Binibining Pilipinas 2020 candidates spent time to tap on their creative side through an art session at the Gateway Gallery in Gateway Mall, Araneta City on Feb. 26. The Gateway Gallery once again opened its doors to the girls for an afternoon of art expression and aesthetics just before the National Arts Month ends. The Binibining Pilipinas candidates were mentored by Philippines’ finest watercolorists Mr. Jen Utleg Consumido, Mr. Joemari Sanclair Chua, Mr. Dan Macapugay and Mr. Carlo Cortez in enhancing the ladies' creativity on visualizing and translating advocacies into works of art. In line with the celebration of the National Arts Month, the candidates of Binibining Pilipinas 2020 paid a visit at the Gateway Gallery Museum, Gateway Tower last Feb. 18. The girls were given a tour of the museum by curator Gari Apolonio, who provided the candidates a quick lecture on the exhibited artworks. The museum visit provided the Binibining Pilipinas candidates a quick blast from the past courtesy of the artworks lined up at the museum's Sining Saysay: Philippine History in Art exhibit. The exhibit, which features 30 large-scale paintings from pre-historic Philippines to the contemporary period, is a joint project of the Araneta City and the University of the Philippines. Through the museum tour, Binibining Pilipinas aims to promote art appreciation while teaching history to the candidates.
