Catriona Gray in town for Bb. Pilipinas, charity works

Reigning Miss Universe Catriona Gray arrived in Manila from New York on June 2 to headline a benefit gala and to crown  her succesor during the grand coronation of Bb. Pilipinas 2019 pageant. On June 4, Gray is expected to attend the benefit gala dubbed "Universe Gives Back" at a hotel in Pasay City. She will co-headline the event with Miss Universe 2015 Pia Wurtzbach. The gala is a joint project of the Miss Universe Philippines and Binibining Pilipinas groups. It will benefit the organizations Love Yourself which Wurtzbach actively supports and Young Focus which Gray assists long before they became Miss Universe. The participating Filipino designers in the charity show are Albert Andrada, Michael Leyva, Rhett Eala, Ito Curata, Jot Losa, Avel Bacudio, Cherry Veric, and Martin Bautista. Gabriela: Miss Universe Catriona Gray is a woman of courage

Gabriela, a non-government organization for women, has described Miss Universe Catriona Gray a brave person for making a stand on national issues. "We commend her boldness for being brave in expressing her views, for example what we all don't want which is the criminalization of children and we welcome her views on the proposed measure to lower the minimum age of criminal responsibility to 12 years old," said Joms Salvador, Secretary-General of Gabriela, during an exclusive interview at the Pandesal Forum held at the Kamuning Bakery Cafe in Quezon City on February 28. Just like Gray, Salvador said that Gabriela is opposed to the proposed measure to lower the minimum age of criminal responsibility to 12 years old. "Rehabilitation not criminalization.
