Philippine Independent Film Festival tackles LGBTQ issues

The Philippine Independent Film Festival, an allied festival of EIGASAI since 2016, had a screening and panel discussion on issues surrounding LGBTQ (lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer), minorities, and the importance of inclusion at Cinematheque Centre Manila last August 5. The event is in collaboration with a project of the Japan Foundation Asia Center: EYES for Embracing Diversity, geared towards practitioners, researchers, and educators in the Southeast Asian regions and Japan who have been striving to create a diverse and inclusive society. This is co-organized by the Philippine LGBT Chamber of Commerce (PLCC), and the Film Development Council of the Philippines. The film "Of Love & Law" was screened during the Philippine film festival. How Jake Cuenca, Paulo Avelino became best friends

Actor Jake Cuenca has said that he considers co-actor Paulo Avelino his best friend because they share something in common which is love for the craft. "Paulo is my best friend. He is the love of my life," said Cuenca, as he laughed during an interview on "Tonight With Boy Abunda" on ABS CBN. Cuenca recalled how his friendship with Avelino started. "Nung bago s'ya sa ABS-CBN, we are often compared to each other because we do similar roles, we do similar projects, we came from another channel. But when we first both met, we saw something in common talaga and that's our love for the craft," Cuenca said. Kim Chiu, Gerald Anderson patch up differences

Actress Kim Chiu has said that she could not remember anymore if her previous relationship with actor Gerald Anderson had a closure. Asked about the closure of their relationship, Chiu said: “Hindi na lang po ako nag text.” Chiu smiled and told Anderson: “Ba’t ako ang taga-sagot? Hindi na lang ako nag text. In-erase ko na lang number mo. "Nung una text text hanggang sa…sige na nga alis na sya. Anong side mo? Ituloy mo.
