Ahtisa Manalo vies for 7th Miss International crown for PH

Reigning Bb. Pilipinas International Ahtisa Manalo leaves for Tokyo, Japan as she set sights on 7th Miss International crown for the Philippines. "I'm excited because I've prepared for this. I've been waiting for this for several months already. I'm gonna give my all. I will do my best. I'm very proud of what I have become," says Manalo, during press send-off for her at the Novotel Manila Araneta Center in Cubao, Quezon City last Oct. 11. Manalo, 21, is the youngest in the batch of Binibinis this year. But she determined to win the crown during the grand finals of the Miss International 2018 beauty contest in Japan on Nov. 9. A 24-year-old Filipino-Australian model earned the right to represent the Philippines in Miss Universe after she was crowned at the 55th Bb. Pilipinas beauty pageant held at the Smart Araneta Coliseum in Cubao, Quezon City early Monday morning. Catriona Gray, of Albay, Bicol, has been a crowd favorite to win the coveted crown since Day 1 of the Bb. Pilipinas contest as she edged out 39 other girls for the title. Gray represented the Philippines in the 2016 Miss World beauty contest held in Maryland, USA where she finished in Top 5. It is rare for a Filipino beauty queen to compete in the Miss Universe pageant after she represented the country in its rival pageant Miss World. Loud cheers from fans of Gray echoed the Big Dome every time the Bicolana beauty queen-blogger appeared on stage.
