Villar woos voters in Laguna

If she would have the chance to return to the Senate, Senator Cynthia A. Villar vows to continue helping poor Filipino get out of poverty. Villar was among the senatorial candidates endorsed by President Rodrigo Duterte during the PDP-Laban campaign rally at the Alonte Sports Arena in Binan, Laguna. In asking voters  to support the re-election bid of Villar, the President stresses that  only “stupid” will not vote for her, whom he described as “parang Nanay ng Bayan” and a “mother in the halls of Congress” who was never involved in any corruption. He also acknowledges Villar’s unrelentless efforts and several projects inorder to help our people.

Gabriela, a non-government organization for women, has described Miss Universe Catriona Gray a brave person for making a stand on national issues. "We commend her boldness for being brave in expressing her views, for example what we all don't want which is the criminalization of children and we welcome her views on the proposed measure to lower the minimum age of criminal responsibility to 12 years old," said Joms Salvador, Secretary-General of Gabriela, during an exclusive interview at the Pandesal Forum held at the Kamuning Bakery Cafe in Quezon City on February 28. 10 outstanding groups feted in 2nd Villar SIPAG Youth awards

The Villar SIPAG (Social Institute for Poverty Alleviation and Governance) Foundation has again acknowledged the important role of the youth sector in significantly reducing poverty in the country and improving the lives of many poor families. Villar SIPAG honors 21 cooperatives for poverty cut

TWENTY-ONE outstanding cooperatives nationwide were recognized by the Villar Social Institute for Poverty Alleviation and Governance (SIPAG) of Sen. Cynthia A. Villar, former Senate President Manny Villar and DPWH Sec. Mark Villar, for their exemplary poverty reduction strategies. Each of the cooperatives received P250,000 as seed money to start a new business or expand their existing projects and customized Villar SIPAG bamboo trophy specially made by the Samahan ng mga Mang-uukit ng Paete. The awarding ceremony was held at the VIillar SIPAG hall at C5 Extension Road, Brgy. Pulanglupa Uno, Las Pinas City. More than 220 cooperatives joined the search for the 2017 Villar SIPAG Awards, of which, 21 cooperatives were selected based on their projects’ effectiveness, significance, financial viability, sustainability and adaptability.
