Aiko Melendez, Ara Mina patch up after longtime rift

Actresses Aiko Melendez and Ara Mina have reconciled after they ended their longtime gap.

This was revealed by reporter-comedian Ogie Diaz on his Facebook last September 23.

Diaz said that Melendez and Mina settled their differences during the wake of their common friend.

"Past is past. The important is now. Nice to see them na tsikahan nang tsikahan. All is well that ends well. #Nice. Sa burol pa talaga nangyari ha? Hehehe," said Diaz on his post.


Mina, 38, posted then on Instagram: "It was nice seeing you@aikomelendez."

Melendez, 41, reposted the photo with Mina with the caption: "So good to finally catch up with you after so many years! Hang out soon :) @therealaramina."

"So good to finally talk and chit chat with you Hazel. It's been ages!!! We both can freely take selfies together without the awkward feeling. Lets hang out soon!!! Katawa ang dami nameng exchanges of textes ahahahaha!" said Melendez on Facebook.


It would be recalled that the gap between the actresses started when Mina became the girlfriend of actor Jomari Yllana, then husband of Melendez.

Mina was even accused of being a homewrecker when she was linked to Yllana.

In 2011, the rift between the stars revived when Mina became the boyfriend of Bulacan Mayor Patrick Meneses, who was formerly linked to Melendez.

Three years later, Melendez told PEP that she has forgiven Mina and Meneses.


“Matagal ko na silang napatawad, even nung bago pa ako na-baptize. Si Tita Connie [Reyes] is one of the few people na may alam niyan. Isa ‘yan sa ipinagdasal namin na sana one day ay magkapatawaran na. Kasi ako, on my end talaga, napatawad ko na,” said Melendez.

In 2016, Mina said that she already broke up with Meneses when their baby girl was just three months old.

"Siya 'yung nag-initiate, three months old ang baby ko. Siyempre crylaloo ako eh nasa dinner pa kami noon. Sabi niya ayaw daw niya mag-pretend na gusto niya pa. Parang ayaw niya pa, ganon lang ka-simple," she told Push.


Asked why she thought the politician left her, Mina said: "Maybe hindi pa siya ready siguro na magka-family.

"Pero actually siya 'yung may gusto na magka-baby kami eh. Ako gusto ko kasal mung bago baby eh. Eh nung sinabi niya na gusto niya ng magka-baby, sabi ko 'Ah seryoso 'to!' Eh di sabi ko, eh di to follow na lang 'yung kasal," Mina added.
