Is Derek Ramsay ready to settle down?

Actor Derek Ramsay has admitted that he and his girlfriend Joanne Villablanca have been talking marriage these days.

But Ramsay believes that he is not ready to propose to Joanne who has just moved into his home.

"Paayos mo na tuhod mo para makaluhod ka na! Bad knees! Gotta get them fixed!" laughed Ramsay, when he faced the Golden Mirror and asked if he is ready to propose to his girlfriend, during an interview on "Tonight With Boy Abunda" on ABS CBN.

Ramsay added: "We've delve on the topic quite a few times. And she's definitely that type who wants to get married. With that, that's a priority to me. Her moving in is steps into that direction. She's wonderful."

Joanne has a daughter named Sophie, he said. "I think I like Sophie more! She's so cute and a little bit mahiyain but once you get to know her and once she gets to know you and feels comfortable, she's really makulit."

"It's a joy when I see her. I'm the one that actually asks Jo, 'when is she coming?' Ramsay said.

Asked to describe his current state of life, Ramsay said: "Happy, complete, content, ready to move on to the next level of my life."

Ramsay, who just won Best Actor for the movie "All of You" at the Metro Manila Film Festival 2017, said that he would allow his son Austin to enter showbiz provided that he should finish school first.


"He's so grown up! He's so fast Last time he was here I think he was just 5 inches shorter. But now his voice is beginning to drop;

"He's growing up a little bit of the mustache. It's so wonderful to see him once again and I've been looking forward to this day," Ramsay said.

"If that's what you wanna do, I'll support you but finish school. I finished school first. If you really wanna do that, finish school," the actor said.

The 41-year-old Filipino-British star said that he will also spend the holidays with his son in Palawan. "We're going to have a trip to Palawan. He is excited to go to Palawan."

 Ramsay has pointed out that he really believes in marriage.

"Yes I do. I have the best and perfect marriage to follow. My parents have been married for over 40 years. So yes there's a big misunderstanding when it comes to me about does Derek believe in marriage?' I just wanna be prepared so that my marriage will last like my parents," he said.

Ramsay also said that he will shoot a movie entitled "Kasal" with Bea Alonzo and Paulo Avelino.

He clarified reports that he has transferred to ABS CBN. But he said that he has finally settled his differences with the Kapamilya network.

"ABS CBN wll always be in my heart because this is where I started. Tita Malou always said, Derek there is something in you. And that's what kept me going.

"It was a talk long overdue. We should have that talk years ago. We left that room with a big thorn taken out of our hearts because it was one big misunderstanding. Sometimes when you love something so much, when you love someone so much, a small misunderstanding can become a lot bigger, because of the emotions. And that's what happened," said Ramsay.

"Just to clarity, I still have a contract with my network. I am completely dedicated, committed to that contract," Ramsay added. - ROBERT REQUINTINA
