Binibini Samantha Bernardo brings cheer to pageant fans

Binibining Pilipinas 2020 front-runner Samantha Bernardo of Palawan City went live on Facebook Monday afternoon, April 13, to cheer her fans and friends as she reminded them to stay home during these grim times.

"Just stay at home and don't forget to stay healthy. Wash your hands all the time. I hope to see you soon in the activities of Binibining Pilipinas," said Bernardo who chatted with her fans from the comfort of her room.

Bernardo, who is competing in Binibining Pilipinas for the third time, also paid tribute to the frontliners engaged in the fight against COVID-19.

During the FB chat, this Binibini beauty invited her fans to ask questions about her journey to the most prestigious national pageant. She is also pushing for a malaria-free Philippines in 2030 as her advocacy.

Towards the end of her Facebook Live chat, Bernardo gave away mobile load to winners of the game portion.

Bernardo also picked her top 6 Binibini queens past and and present who inspired and influenced her.
She chose 2018 Miss Universe Catriona Gray, 2015 Miss Universe Pia Wurtzbach, former Miss International Bea Rose Santiago, Bb. Pilipinas 2018 first runner-up Vickie Rushton and Bb. Pilipinas semi-finalist Angelee delos Reyes.

"Vickie is so inspiring. When the age limit for Miss International was changed, it was Vickie who called me. I also texted her. She told me 'sumali ka na.' Then sabi ko naman sa kanya, 'Ano? Sali tayo?," she said.

Bernardo recalled Wurtzbach was one of those who texted her when she did not win any crown in the Bb. Pilipinas 2019 beauty pageant. "She gave me words of encouragement. It's one of the reasons why I am here again." - Robert Requintina
