Celine Dion gets emotional during first Manila gig

"Titanic" singer Celine Dion got emotional as she wrapped up the first night of her two-day jampacked concert at the SM Mall of Asia in Pasay City Thursday night, July 19.

Dion sang her heart out to the delight of Filipino fans who cheered her hits songs such as "It's All Coming Back To Me Now," "All By Myself," "Because You Loved Me," "My Heart Will Go On," "That's The Way It Is," "To Love You More," etc.

The Grammy award-winning singer was teary eyed before she sang an a capella version of "Can't Help Fallin' In Love" for her encore.

"Thank you so much. I am extremely touch by your warm welcome to our first visit to Manila;

"It is very hard to everyone in the world probably, you know to kinda trabvel so far with so much to do, so much things to be concerned about, the travelling, the expenses, the children, the whole thing of travelling, when we live so far away, boy you really think about. Tonight we were one;

"Tonight there are no barriers. Nothing's gonna stop from being together. Like I say though it's hard sometimes, to play our instruments the best way possible and have the jet lag and travel, and travel to one city from one country day after day. It's not easy;

"But it's harder, really hard to say goodbye. And it's not easy for me right now. The last thing that I want to tell you is that I love you very much. And probably the only way to tell you that I love you my own way," says Dion. - ROBERT R. REQUINTINA
