Cabalen Restaurant takes dining to the next level



Have you eaten at Cabalen Restaurant lately?

If not, then chances are you're missing a lot of new delicious treats in this all-Filipino dishes resto.

Cabalen Restaurant, which offers a wide variety of delectable Filipino treats on a daily basis, ups in terms of choices with the addition of other Asian dishes on its buffet table.



At the 2nd floor of Glorietta in Makati City, Cabalen resto expands by adding Asian dishes via its new offering dubbed Cabalen Plus.

This means that aside from the more than 50 dishes which Cabalen serves, the popular resto has included exciting Asian dishes from Japan, China, Malaysia, and Thailand.



"So now we have California maki, siomai, chicken with lemon grass, Teppanyaki, mango salad, and a lot more," said Siony Aguila, head of the training and quality department of Cabalen, who has been working for the resto for 16 years now, during an interview recently.

Apart from Glorietta branch, Cabalen Plus is now offered at Robinsons Galleria in Pasig City.

The newly-refurbished Cabalen Restaurant in Glorietta is one of the more than 45 branches that serve the country nationwide. For five months, the place was renovated to give customers that home-y peg. Now Cabalen in Glorietta is ready to serve you.



And there's no stopping Cabalen Restaurant. This year, 12 more Cabalen restaurants will open nationwide.

So what is the secret to the growing number of Cabalen Restaurant and food lovers just keep coming back?

"What we serve are dishes that are home-made or lutong bahay. Nothing fancy about our preparations but we have learned how to prepare these delicious recipes over the years," said Aguila.

Kare-kare remains to be the most popular food in any Cabalen Restaurant. "It's our best-selling dish."

Aguila added: "We try to balance everything we serve at Cabalen. We make sure that we cook enough meat, fish and vegetables dishes everyday so that no food will be wasted."



Above all, Cabalen Restaurant always promotes quality food and cleanliness.

"We don't take second best. I think one of the reasons why Cabalen is still popular among food lovers is because we maintain high quality of food that we offer. Hindi basta-basta lang. Every recipe or dish that we serve is carefully prepared," said Aguila.



Now on its 33rd year, Cabalen started out as a resto that serves a la carte on West Avenue in Quezon City. It was in 1992 when they finally introduced the buffet set-up in Makati City. These days, Cabalen's biggest branch is located at the Mall of Asia compound in Pasay City.



Food lovers believe that Cabalen Restaurant is the pioneer when it comes to buffet-styled restaurant.

"Cabalen will continue to evolve in terms of food that we offer as we go by. Cabalen is here to and we will offer quality and delicious local and international dishes," Aguila said. - ROBERT R. REQUINTINA
