Who will be the next Miss Global Philippines?

The Miss Global Philippines 2017 beauty contest ushered its new pageant season with the presentation of 22 candidates during a special show for members of the press held in Quezon City last Thursday, May 18.

This year's official candidates are Sharmaine Rose Magdasoc, Aisha Sahid, Rowena Sasuluya, Dheza Rose Asis, Sheena Mae Adricula, Fina Jallene Gulapa, Joana Marie Verdeflor, Maria Frencheska Nueva, Andrea Delgado, Crisha Buen;

Sharmaine Aller, Nestly Resplandor, Chantal Roi Serafica, Marie Donnabelle Gaoat, Mary Ann Mungcal, Thessa Marie Saavedra, Janine Ortiz, Jacqueline Mayoralgo, Dianne Abigail Santiago, Christine Balaguer, Maria Josephine Araullo and Mhaelen Mae Patano.


Among the notable contestants this year are Sasuluya, a licensed teacher in social studies; Verdeflor, an owner of drug store in Naga City; Gaoat, team anchor of women's epee at the Far Eastern University; Mayoralgo, an engineering graduate who has also recorded two albums; and Bagauer, a deaf fashion model.

"As a competition for women from all walks of life, Miss Global Philippines remains true to its mission of crowning deserving winners who will work towards the promotion of Philippine tourism," said Pauline Sofia Laping, CEO and national pageant director, Miss Global Philippines.



During press presentation held at the West Avenue Suites in Quezon City, Mayoralgo was voted Darling of the Press; Mungcal, 2nd place; and Aller, 3rd place.

Now on its 4th year, Miss Global Philippines is the only beauty pageant that caters to single women and single mothers. It is organized by PSL Entertainment Production under the auspices of Laping together with the founder of Miss Global Tourism Philippines Foundation Rizza Lao.



"Miss Global Philippines is steadily gaining followers in the country. It remains as one of the fast-growing beauty searches and has been crowning deserving ladies who can best represent the Philippines in the international pageant scene," added Laping.


Last year, Camille Hirro placed 1st runner-up in the international edition of Miss Global pageant held in Manila.

The grand coronation night of the Miss Global Philippines 2017 beauty pageant will be held at the Newport Performing Arts Theater, Resorts World Manila on Saturday, June 24, at 8 p.m. - ROBERT REQUINTINA
