Britney Spears coming to Manila in June



For the first time, Grammy-award winning pop superstar Britney Spears is coming to the Philippines to stage her one-night concert at the SM Mall of Asia on June 15.

Spears, 35, made the announcement on Facebook after she completed her Las Vegas, Nevada residency where she staged concerts for the past years.

"Excited to be performing in Manila this summer," said Spears on her FB post.

The management of Spears said that the Manila show is part of the star's world tour.

So far, only the Philippines and Israel shows have been confirmed. This would be the first wold tour of Spears since 2011.

Tickets to the Tel Aviv show are now being sold. In Manila, the tickets will be sold starting April 5 at 10 a.m via the SMTickets.com.

Rumors about Spears staging a concert in Manila have swirled several years ago but it never materialized allegedly because of high talent fee and production cost of the show. The show is also being presented by local clothing brand Bench.


Spears concert is also known for staging elaborate production numbers.

Wilbros Live, producers of the concert, posted the ticket prices for the show - SVIP - P28,350; VIP - P23,100; Patron - P15,750; Patron/SRO - N/A; Lower A - P12,600; Lower B - P10,500; Upper Box - 5,775 and General Admission - P2,625.

Spears blasted the top of the charts in the US and abroad with her single "Baby One More Time" in 1998.

Her other chart-topping singles were "Womanizer," "3," "Hold It Against Me," "S&M," "Till the World Ends," "Circus," "Sometimes," "Gimme More," "Everytime," "Toxic," etc.

She has done nine albums, six of those went to No.1 on Billboard Top 200 Albums chart. Her current album is "Glory."

Spears has two children. Her marriage to her first husband Jason Allen Alexander has been annulled and she has been divorced from Kevin Federline.
