Is Mae Lanie Chan out of 2017 Bb. Pilipinas competition?

The photo of Mae Lanie Chan who is Candidate No. 36 in the 2017 Binibining Pilipinas beauty pageant has been removed from the official gallery of candidates, raising speculations that the flight attendant is already out of the race.

Reports said that the photo of Chan has been pulled out from the official roster of candidates since Friday, March 17.

Organizers of the most prestigious local beauty pageant did not give any statement if Chan has been disqualified or withdrew from the competition for personal reasons.

Chan is the first candidate in this year's batch to end her journey to the Binibining Pilipinas pageant.

Unconfirmed reports said that no one would be appointed to replace Chan.

If that's the case, then only 39 candidates would be presented to the media on Wednesday, March 22

Chan, 25, is trained under the Aces and Queens beauty camp headed by Jonas Gaffud, who groomed Miss Universe 2015 Pia Wurtzbach, reigning Miss International Kylie Verzosa and Miss World 2013 Megan Lynne Young.

She is also one of three cabin crew of the Philippine Airlines for this year's contest. The two others were sisters Dindi and Kimberly Pajares.

Here's a portion of Chan's interview which appeared in Norman Tinio's pageant website normannorman.com before she dropped out of the Bb. Pilipinas 2017 pageant.

“I am 25 years old from Isabela, and has been working as a Flight Attendant for Philippine Airlines after graduating BS in Commerce major in Tourism Management from the Far Eastern University. I try to live a very active lifestyle trying all sorts of physical activities like surfing, hiking, wakeboarding, yoga, bouldering and scuba diving. I went into all sorts of activities but I really fell in love with scuba diving. That’s why I got my advanced open water diver license from PADI when I was in college." - Robert R.
